The newly built RC Passion Track in Guangzhou, Southern China, held its
inaugural race with close to 100 drivers from all over China, Hong Kong,
Macau and Taiwan in attendance. Team Murnan Mugen driver JJ Wang won the
1/8 On-road class with his Murnan Powered Novarossi Plus35. The humidity
was extremely high but the Murnan Modified Motor ran with consistent power
throughout. Starting second on the starting grid, JJ overtook the lead car
5 laps into the race and kept in front until the end, a well deserved
victory for the 12 year old. This was also Murnan's first win in China.

Murnan WINS in Guangzhou China
Team Shepherd driver Chris Steele has successfully defended his Irish 1:10 200mm National Championship title continuing his 100% winning form as the fifth round took competitors to Northern Ireland. Racing at the tight Ballymoney circuit, Steele maintained his perfect qualifying record to secure his fifth TQ honour of the season ahead of the returning Mark Gilliland. Leading the 30 minute encounter from start to finish Steele set the fastest lap to take his Murnan Modified RB powered Velox V10 to a 4 lap winning margin. Making it a 1-2 for Shepherd, teenager Darren Gibb took second with Gilliland’s Xray completing the podium. With the title in the bag despite two round still remaining in the 2010 Championship.

Terry Brown is the new ROAR Southwest Series Points Champion
Chris Steele remains the 2010 Irish 200mm champion. He dominated with his new Shephard Velox V10, and RBM3 engine.
It was a beautiful sunny day for third round of the Irish Onroad Nitro National Championships that took place at the country’s only permanent track which is situated on the outskirts of Dublin city. Hot weather and sugar watering of the track on race morning made for perfect race conditions at the St.Annes circuit and in 1:10 200mm it was business as usual for defending champion Chris Steele. The Shepherd team driver maintained his domination of the class making it three out of three in qualifying by claiming his third TQ honours of the season taking his Murnan Modified RBM3 powered Velox V10 around the track in the fastest five minute run of the 2010 season. In the 30-minute final Steele led from start to finish to take a convincing victory over the Serpent of David Mulligan. Having qualified second on the grid Chris Lawlor had a troubled race at the controls of Kyosho but still managed to maintain his run of podium finishes.

Another win for team Murnan
5 out of the top 10 in the A main were running the Murnan RBM3!
This years US National Championship was held by the 8th Racers of Toledo, in Toledo Ohio. This northern part of the United States gave us with perfect racing weather. The morning temperatures were in the 50’s with highs in the 70’s, and low humidity. Great Horsepower weather!
This year ROAR officials would combine 200mm sedan, and 8th scale. I was going to race 8th scale, but due to time constraints my sedan was suffering, so I quit racing the 8th car. Maybe next year ROAR will have independent Nationals for the people that race both classes. Two classes is too much for some people.
I had a base setup on my NT-1 that was good from the Great Lakes Challenge a month ago at this same track. The setup was good, but there were some other cars that were cornering faster than mine in practice. I would change my setup chasing, and end up almost where I started by beginning of qualifying. For NT-1 setup I ended up with the front hinge pins all the way up, and the Rear hinge pins all the way down. This was required with my driving style so the car will not traction roll. I had 45 shore rear tires with 40 shore front to help. With this I could be very aggressive without worrying about grip rolling the car. A lot of cars suffered from traction rolling at this race, even 8th scale cars! That’s how insane the level of traction was.
Qualifying did not go as well as planned for me due to the points system. I had some fast runs, but they did not count well due to the level of competition there. My slowest run netted me a 5th place for the round. I would go faster in times, but not another 5th which would have earned me a place in the final. I would have to bump from first in the semi.
I started the even semifinal on pole. At the start I got a body tucked under the rear wheel. I was in 8th place immediately. Around the first pit stop it would be Tommy Desantis, and myself who had first, and second. After the dust settled I won the semi easily by 3 laps, with Tommy Desantis right behind me. That would earn Tommy a 13th starting position, and myself an 11th starting position in the A main. The 12th, and 14th bump up spots would be filled from the odd semi final.
The A main starting lineup of 14 drivers was set. We had 5 out of 14 drivers running the new Murnan RBM3 .12. Each one performed perfectly. We were able to run longer on a tank of fuel than any of the competition, and gave up power to no one. A great combination.
After the hour long main the results were as follows:
LeMieux, Paul 1 1 181 60:07.230 18.860 18.918 18.970 19.036 1

I would like to than my team for their great performance. I am proud of you all for making the top 10 at the US National Championship using the new Murnan RBM3 .12 Engine. I know things could have gone better for all of us during the main event. It is very rare that bad luck does not strike in one way or another during an hour long main. I lost a front belt 53 minutes into the main after I started to push the car. It is my own fault, due to lack of changing it all week on this grip level. Here is how the Murnan Team finished.
Sedan
4th Bobby Flack
5th Scotty Gray
6th Chris Doseck
8th Tommy Desantis
10th Uriah Murnan
8th Scale
Steve Rossi for making the 8th scale A main.
8th Scale Masters
Paul Becattini for making the A main.
My X Ray NT-1 performed perfectly all week. I could not ask for more out of a car. I have been thrilled with the quality, and performance since switching to it a couple of months ago. Over 80% of the A main drivers were running the X-Ray NT1, and 5 out of the top 10 were running the RBM3. The X-Ray NT-1, and the Murnan RBM3 are a potent combination. During the week I would ask my drivers how their engines were running? It is very satisfying to hear them all say “Perfect”. Thanks for your great driving guys.

The 2009 Mid South R/c pro series was held in Flowood, Mississippi. The track conditions were muddy due to the rain the night before the qualifying. I only had a little time to break in my new Murnan Modifed motor for qualifying since the track was muddy. When it came to qualifying the motor ran awesome in every heat, I didn't have any problems with tune. The motor idled good throughout the whole day. I was getting 7 minutes and 30 seconds on a tank probably due to the track being very loose therefore wasting a lot of gas. In the Final event the motor held together strong for me to be able to catch back up to Alan Burton due to the mistakes I was making. I was able to catch him due to longer pits than his motor, he happened to flame out at the last 30 seconds of the race which I knew from then on I had it as long as nothing happened. When it came to the end of the race, I was able to cross the line while running out of gas, the race was very intense for both Alan and I through the 30 minute A-main, but my Murnan motor was super fast the whole weekend and had a lot of compliments. Thanks to Uriah for making a reliable engine for me!

Ryan Lopez is Midsouth Champ In Buggy with Murnan Power
In the 10th scale racing i tq'ed by 8 seconds over 2nd place and won the final with ease by 2 laps to claim my 1st state title.
http://www.redrc.net/2009/08/jason-dorn-does-queensland-double/
In the 8th scale i qualified 4th al though i was 3rd quickest car just had setup issues and could not get a clean run in. In the final got up into 3rd and was keeping within 1lap of 1 and 2 until 1st place ran out of fuel before 5mins putting my up into 2nd and my engine was making 5min easy. Then was 1/2 a lap off 1st place then his motor flamed out granting me the 1st but it wasn't without a fight at the original TQ and leader of the final was putting in track record laptime to catch back up mean while i was cruising making sure not to make any mistakes. He got within 5seconds of me by the time the 30min final was finished.
So i got 1st place in both classes. Great weekend and would not of been so successful without your engines to power my cars to victory thank you.

Jason Dorn wins double at Queensland State Title w/ Murnan Power
Team Driver Bobby Flack was able to TQ the nitro sedan class against some of the fastest drivers in the world at the 2009 Great Lakes Challenge. The Murnan Modified RBM3 proved to be very potent with it's amazing power, and extreme runtime.
I arrived to the track on Tuesday night for the 2009 Great Lakes Challenge, and the rain was falling. The weather for the rest of the week would be very nice. Highs in the low 80’s, and lows near 60. The 1/8th Racers of Toledo had the track ready for practice early on Wednesday morning. The traction came up to a high level by qualifying on Friday.
I traded in my Kyosho RRR that I have been driving for the past 5+ years. I was ready for a change to the X-Ray NT1. This was my first time racing my new car. I immediately realized that this car was better for me. I was able to put down more power without breaking the car loose compared to the RRR. This would be important as my team was running the new RBM3 engine. The new engine proved to be the combination to beat in qualifying with it’s extreme power, and colossal runtime.
After qualifying was over it was team driver Bobby Flack who stood at the top of the pole. The combination of his NT1, and RBM3 proved too much for the field. There were 3 RBM3 engines in the A final, all with the NT1 chassis. This was the qualifying order.
1.Bobby Flack-NT1-RBM3
2.Paul Lemieux-NT1
3.Ralph Burch-NT1
4.Josh Cyrul-Shephard
5.Paolo Morganti-Serpent 733
6.Uriah Murnan- NT1-RBM3
7.Gianni Giorgio-NT1
8.Chris Doseck-NT1-RBM3
9.Rafael Aagulo-NT1
10.Roniel Regalado-NT1
11.Andy Power
12.Jason Conley
13.Larry Stone
14.Mike Mcbride
During the final it was Ralph Burch, and Paul Lemieux that checked out. They had a fast setup for the main, and would not be caught. Ralph had a problem at the very end of the race allowing Lemieux to squeak by for the win. Ralph was second. Paolo finished 3rd, Larry stone 4th, I finished 5th. My pit crew was not experienced with my new car, and flamed me out by covering my exhaust during each pit stop. This was my fault more than theirs. The hole should have been larger. This cost me some time, and a better finish. I would be the top finishing RBM3 driver in 5th. Bobby, and Chris were fast, but they had some collision problems in the main that retired them.
The final results ended up like this.
Pos. Car Driver's Name Total Laps Total Time Fastest Lap On Lap Avg. Speed Status

Flack TQ's 2009 Great Lakes Challenge with the RBM3 .12
Ryan Lopez has finished 1st, 1st, 2nd since switching to Murnan Power. Ryan uses the Murnan Modified OS VSPEC in his X Ray buggy.
From Ryan Lopez:
"The RC Pro series east division started out good with some really fabulous weather. When It came the practicing I noticed my Murnan Modified engine was super dialed. There were some serious heat this weekend so I knew I had to get my stuff right in order to take first place.
The First round of qualifying I always try to have a safe run which went really well. My Murnan Vspec is running superior which knowing that I could get a good run. I ended up finishing 4th overall for the round one. When it came to the 2nd round the track picked up some speed due to the hot weather which made the groove to come up. Due to the weather of getting extremely hot I had to adjust the motor for the conditions, ever since I've had no problems throughout the day of qualifying. Since I was trying to turn a 11 lap in the rest of my qualifiers I ran into some bad luck which took me out of finishing top 3 in every round of qualifying. When all the qualifiers ended I took the 8th position in the final event so I knew I had to step up my game for the A-main.
When it came to the A-main I had a good feeling on doing good because my MMM Vspec had ran extremely well during qualifying with Byrons Fuel. When the practice started for the A-main my motor was screaming without any problems so from there on I knew I was ready. From starting in 8th place, the race started very well. When it came to the first lap Barry Petit, Jason Runoa, and I were battling for first place. Barry had a few mistakes which gave me the lead while Jason was trying to make a move, later on Billy Easton took the first place spot from me due to some minor wrecks. From there on I had 2nd place pretty much held throughout out the race while trying to catch Billy Easton. From the half way point I was gaining on Billy tremendously giving me only 5 seconds behind him. When it came to the end of the race I was slowly gaining but made a few mistakes at the end of the race which put Billy 5 seconds in front of me which he took the win. The Murnan Modified Vspec held through the whole 45 minute A-main without any problems with the help of Byrons fuel!"

Murnan Modified at the 2009 Capitol Classic
I arrived to the track on the last day of practice. It was evident early on that the Ft. Myers crew had done something special to the track. The traction was higher than it has ever been. Even higher that when the track was repaved with new asphalt! My car was traction rolling with all but the hardest tires. I had to use 45 shore front, and rear tires on my Kyosho RRR Evo 2 WC to avoid rolling the car.
This would be the first true test of the new Novarossi M353R .12 engine. We had myself, Vincent Jackson, Tommy DeSantis, Jamie Corrado, and Gary Tuttle running the engine. We were not all getting over 5 minutes of runtime. I made the determination that the engines were running too rich. The engines were already very fast at this rich setting. We switched from the #5 glowplug that comes in the engine for break-in to the C7TGF glowplug. We all used 16% nitro with the Novarossi 2601 exhaust and short header. The 2630 exhaust was working extremely well too, but it consumed too much fuel on this track with the current weather conditions. With more time to test, I am sure the 2630 will be great. Vincent Jackson used the 2630. After leaning, and changing to a colder glowplug) the engines were extremely fast, and smooth with the short header (The longer headers made uncontrollable bottom end power). The engines were all making the required 5 minutes of runtime now too.
During qualifying we would all struggle with traction rolling in some of the turns. You had to drive smooth with this years traction, even with the hardest tires. The high traction would make for the fastest qualifying runs in Ft. Myers history. New records were set in sedan, and 8th scale. Team driver Vincent Jackson qualified 3rd showing how capable of a driver he is. He would be the only driver to qualify directly into the A main. I missed the A main by a quarter of a second on my last qualifier. I would have to bump up from the B main. Jamie Corrado, and Tommy DeSantis qualified into the B main with me. We were all on pace with A main runs during the week, but traction rolling, or slow traffic cost us each time. There could only be 2 bump up drivers. I led most of the race, and in the end it was X-Ray driver James Burrows, and I that would make it into the A Main.
I would start the A main in 9 position, and Vincent would start in 3rd. We would maintain our positions for the first few minutes. I then heard Vincent dropped out due to traction rolling, and breaking his car. I would move up to 5th place during the halfway point in the 45 minute main. My tires were beginning to come in. I was able to push the car harder, and harder. I got a little too greedy, and Ft Myers punished me with some serious damage. I hit the steel barrier in the S Turn, and my car helicoptered into the concrete barrier. My front left tire was destroyed, and my throttle linkage had a Z bend. I was out of contention for the win, as that cost me over 30 laps. I would repair the car in the pits, and finish 7th.
The new M353R modified engines all performed flawlessly, and were the fastest engines on the racetrack. They are oiled up, and ready for the next race.

Eddies Douglas from Creedmore, NC proved he was the man to beat in this years East Coast Dirt Oval Series. The rough and tumble world of Open Nitro Sprint cars was his domain and just like Steve Kinser, he was the King. Eddie ran good all season but waited till the 6th and final race to put on a clinic by taking the TQ and the win in dominating fashion. Eddie’s Custom Works Enforcer GSX was set on kill as he led from wire to wire to take the win and the overall series victory. Fellow GSX drivers Jake Flurer and Kip Ellerbusch rounded out a 1, 2, 3 sweep for Custom Works in the overall series points standings. Congratulations to Eddie and all of the racers who duked it out in the Nitro Sprint class this year. Eddie used the Murnan Modified Novarossi +12-3SCT engine.
